Bumkus Botanicals is the seed house: the place where the original works are kept in their first form, and where new things are raised carefully — tested, hardened, and grown until they are strong enough to take a house of their own. Nothing leaves the greenhouse half-rooted.
What is public here is the picture and the promise. The growing itself happens behind glass, on purpose.
First forms are kept as they were made — the seed stock of everything the establishment has built since.
New ventures are raised in the incubator: small, watched, and tested against the real before they ever face it.
When a thing is ready, it takes its own house — its own billboard, its own door — and this house starts the next one.
Bumkus Botanicals is being prepared as the catalog's seed house. Conversations about what grows here run through the founder — every inquiry comes back to him personally.
From the notebook: Kept, Grown, Transplanted — the method, written the way it would be written in the notebook: plainly, and in order.
From the notebook: The Claim Has to Know Where It Grew — a claim has to know where it grew, or it doesn't go on the label.
